Terms of Use

Last updated: June 18, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using VeriFlag (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. VeriFlag is operated by Caerify (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

2. Description of Service

VeriFlag is a scam and deepfake campaign verification utility. Users may submit URLs, messages, phone numbers, or descriptions of suspicious content. The Service searches a database of documented scam campaigns and uses AI to generate a structured verdict indicating whether the submitted content appears to be associated with fraudulent activity.

VeriFlag is a free service and will remain free to individual users. The Service is supported by affiliate commissions earned when users click links to third-party identity protection and security services. These commissions do not influence our verdicts.

3. Not Legal or Financial Advice

All verdicts provided by VeriFlag are probabilistic assessments based on available evidence — not legal determinations, financial advice, or professional opinions of any kind. Results may be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated. Do not rely solely on VeriFlag verdicts to make financial, legal, safety, or employment decisions.

4. Affiliate Disclosure

VeriFlag participates in affiliate programs with identity protection and security companies including Aura, NordVPN, IdentityIQ, and Experian. We may earn a commission when you purchase a product or service through a link on our site. This compensation does not affect the verdicts we generate or the evidence we report. We recommend products we believe are relevant to users based on scam type and risk factors.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Submit false reports intended to defame individuals or businesses
  • Use the Service to harass, intimidate, or target individuals
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the Service’s API
  • Submit content that is itself illegal, including stolen information
  • Misrepresent your identity when submitting community reports
  • Attempt to manipulate or corrupt the verdict database

6. Community Reports

Community-submitted reports are user-generated content. We do not verify community reports before publication. Reports go through a review process and may be updated or removed at our discretion. By submitting a report, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free license to use, display, and aggregate the information for the purpose of improving the Service.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY VERDICT WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CAERIFY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU SHALL NOT EXCEED $100.

9. Intellectual Property

The VeriFlag name, logo, campaign database, AI models, and all associated content are proprietary to Caerify. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission. Scam campaign data that originates from public government sources (FTC, FBI IC3, CFPB) is used under applicable open-data policies.

10. Takedown and Corrections

If you believe a verdict or campaign record is factually incorrect or defamatory, you may submit a takedown request via our Takedown Policy page. We aim to respond within 7 business days.

11. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be noted by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California.
